Biometric Handwriting Identification
The New Biometric
FLEX-Tracker™
Foreign Language EXploitaion for Handwritten Documents – Identify the Writer
|
FLEX-Tracker is the product of years of development in conjunction with leading law enforcement laboratories. For centuries, forensic handwriting examination (also called document examination) has relied on human experience to determine whether writing samples match. Today’s volume of evidence and scarcity of world-class examiner resources demanded a new approach. FLEX-Tracker’s patented biometric handwriting technology takes the subjectivity out of document examination . . . the next great stride forward in creating scientifically-based handwriting evidence. How Does it Work?
Biometric Handwriting Identification is built around the idea that every person incorporates individual features into his or her handwriting which can be used to distinguish it from that of other writers. Gannon’s Graph-based Recognition™ statistically compares topology and feature measurements on similar objects across different handwriting samples to identify characteristics unique to an individual writer. These characteristics—everything from pen strokes to loops to crossed lines to size—can be analyzed and then translated into a mathematical characterization or “identifier” for each writer.
